About Us
In an industry where there is often a gulf between the one-man band and the large multi-national, Tidey and Webb operates as an independent business that strikes the right balance in between. The workforce and range of plant ensure a quick and effective response to customer demands. The company can tackle projects of a fairly significant undertaking without being over-stretched but is also of a size where a personal and responsive service can be maintained.
Over the years Tidey and Webb have built up a solid and growing client base in Sussex, Surrey and the South East in general, extensive repeat business being an obvious by-product of a careful, quality orientated and customer focused approach. These clients include many private companies, local authorities, schools, residents associations, developers, building contractors and the general public. Contracts for prestigious clients such as Southern Water, EDF Energy, The National Trust, British Airways, Dairycrest and Legal & General have been carried out, with the resurfacing of Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit in 2005 being the biggest surfacing project undertaken so far.
Customers relationships are established, maintained and highly valued so the client deals with the same friendly face wherever possible. Many companies looking for regular maintenance without the cost of facilities management have found that Tidey and Webb can fill this void with their range of services and availability, coupled with detailed local knowledge.
Tidey and Webb’s extensive local knowledge is also a huge plus. Having operated in the area for over four decades, the company has formed strong links with the best local suppliers and knows the strengths of each. This information proves invaluable when working with customers
Many of Tidey and Webb’s loyal and locally based workforce have been with the company for many years. This gives a feeling of continuity and reliability in an industry where many businesses come and go.
But quality – in terms of service and its operative systems – is all-important and this is the final piece in the jigsaw at Tidey and Webb. The company uses high quality plant and operates a fleet of modern vehicles and backs this up with quality service levels.
The most important element on the service front is time-keeping. The company prides itself on offering realistic dates to clients and ensuring that, when on site, the work is completed by the time agreed to the same, exacting standards.
Mission & Quality Statement
We guarantee all the works we undertake against defective materials and or workmanship failure and strive to offer a first class product on time and within budget with minimal disruption to you, the client. 80% of our work comes from repeat clients or recommendations and this is why we are in our 44th year of trading; a statistic that we are proud of.
Our workforce is directly employed and is dedicated to providing a quality product first time and on budget. Our operatives undertake Health & Safety training and are CPCS qualified in the plant and equipment we use. Our management team has a wealth of experience across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire in both commercial surfacing and residential Surfacing, as well as in Construction & Civil Engineering works. We are happy to discuss and price any work, be it on a job basis or to survey your external premises or estate. We offer a planned maintenance programme over a period of one to five years that will target the works needed to suit the budget available and carry out pre-emptive repairs before these become a major expenditure.
We will provide realistic programmes complete with risk assessments and method statements if required, and will work with you to provide minimum disruption but cover the required legislation.
We use only quality assured material suppliers and offer the latest product technology as it becomes available. We carry ten million pound public and employee’s liability insurance.
We are members of the Health & Safety Schemes SafeContractor & Constructionline. This requires continual development & compliance with H&S schemes which are vetted by each organisation. Many large organisations will only accept contractors who are members of these schemes.
